Betty’s Place is located in Albury and provides accommodation for women and their children, who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or escaping family and domestic violence. Woman and children accessing our accommodation services partner with a case manager who will talk to you about your situation, help you develop some goals for the future and support you in achieving these goals. We have specialist focus on domestic and family violence and can assist you in navigating services, linking up with legal advice and developing a plan to make sure you and your family are safe. Our team of case managers also provide support to women, children and families on an outreach basis, meaning you don’t have to come into the refuge to get support.
You will also have access to our onsite Wellbeing Worker who will provide a safe space to talk and emotional support during and after your stay in our accommodation service. The experience of homelessness, domestic and family violence and other crisis situations often comes with a level of ‘trauma’ or emotional distress and our Wellbeing Worker can assist you in moving forward after a difficult time.
You can access Betty’s Place through our Centralised Intake team at The HUB on 562 Macauley Street Albury or you can give us a call on 1800 885 355. If we aren’t able to answer please leave a message and we’ll return your call as soon as possible. Outside of normal business hours you can contact the Link2Home Helpline 1800 152 152 or the Domestic Violence Line 1800656463. If you have any concerns for your immediate safety please dial 000 for emergency services. If we have a vacancy and you are unsure about staying at Betty’s Place please call us to arrange a tour with one of our staff. We work hard to make sure our accommodation services are a ‘homelike’ environment and would encourage you to have a chat with our staff if you’re feeling uncertain about using the service.
