Domestic & Family Violence
Domestic and family violence (DFV) can happen to anyone, in any relationship and can have significant short- and long-term impacts.
DFV is not always physical. It can also be:
- Frequent unwanted contact
- Being coerced into staying in a relationship
- Constant put downs
- Stalking or harassment
- Someone controlling who you see, what you do, or how you spend your money.
Any behaviour from a partner or family member that makes you feal scared or impacts your feeling of safety could mean you are experiencing DFV.
Our Domestic and Family Violence team works closely with a number of local services and can provide support with:
- Identifying if what you are experiencing is domestic and family violence
- Developing a safety plan to keep you and your children safe
- Accessing crisis accommodation such as Betty’s Place
- Practical and financial assistance
- Assistance to secure and remain safe in your own home through our Staying Home Leaving Violence program
- Connecting you to the right services such as Court Support, police, counselling, legal advice or Victims Services NSW
- Someone to talk to, without judgement, while you navigate your recovery from DFV
