Domestic & Family Violence

Domestic and family violence (DFV) can happen to anyone, in any relationship and can have significant short- and long-term impacts.

Stop sign with a hand inside a circle, colored pink, orange and purple.

DFV is not always physical. It can also be:

  • Frequent unwanted contact

  • Being coerced into staying in a relationship

  • Constant put downs
  • Stalking or harassment

  • Someone controlling who you see, what you do, or how you spend your money.

Any behaviour from a partner or family member that makes you feal scared or impacts your feeling of safety could mean you are experiencing DFV.

Our Domestic and Family Violence team works closely with a number of local services and can provide support with:

  • Identifying if what you are experiencing is domestic and family violence

  • Developing a safety plan to keep you and your children safe

  • Accessing crisis accommodation such as Betty’s Place
  • Practical and financial assistance

  • Assistance to secure and remain safe in your own home through our Staying Home Leaving Violence program
  • Connecting you to the right services such as Court Support, police, counselling, legal advice or Victims Services NSW

  • Someone to talk to, without judgement, while you navigate your recovery from DFV
